What I do

My goal is to make the world know more about Taiwan. Since 2008, I am the only German journalist regularly reporting from Taiwan for print media, radio, and television.

Subjects have included:

The 2008 and 2012 presidential elections
Taiwan’s enviromental movement
Cross-strait relations between Taiwan and China
The death penalty in Taiwan
Falun Gong practitioners in Taiwan
The 228 Massacre and the Kaohsiung Incident
Chinese students in Taiwan

I have also published a book about key events in Taiwan’s recent democratic development.

How you can help

Being a freelancer, I work without regular support by a big media corporation. What I do in Taiwan, I do on my own. It is not always easy, but it’s worth the effort.
